Essay of Hope – Houston, Texas Summer 2022
Purpose of the Essay: To promote Student Achievement Awareness at the student level.
1. The essay is open to all students.2. The student must learn how to contact the PTA president at their school.3. Students must submit their completed essay to their PTA organization at their school. PTA presidents to submit students' essays via email.4. Each essay must also include the name of the student’s school and grade.5. If the PTA president is not available, the essay can be submitted by email to aj.garry@gmail.com to by the student’s parent, guardian or teacher.6. There will be an essay winner for each grade per school.7. All submitted essays become the property of Networking for Life and may be used to promote Student Achievement Awareness to students in various educational markets.8. Essay Instructions•Complete the following questions in complete sentences. The sentences will make up an essay about you and the plans you hope to follow before and after you graduate from high school. Also, keep in mind that a positive attitude is a key ingredient to following your dreams. Listen when others are speaking. Learn. Become the leader.•By writing down the things you dream about, it will be easier for you to remember as you prepare for your life after high school.

Essay of Hope (paragraph #4)•If you ever thought about becoming a business owner, what type of business would you own and why?•If you ever thought about becoming an inventor, what would you invent and why?•If you were the principal of a school, what would you do to make sure all students at your school received an education that prepared them for a better life after they completed high school.•If you had the opportunity to promote “Student Achievement Awareness” to students in your class, how would you do it and why?
How to build your own network (paragraph #5)
(Planning for your future personal contacts, because one day you will want to do something special- that’s when you will be glad you have your network in place!)

If you do not have a current list, consider adding www.networkingforlife.org as one of your choices. • Because of the growing number of children and young adults being taken in Texas, the following section has been added: In 2019, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) made it mandatory for all teachers and office management staff complete mandatory training on how to recognize bullying and human trafficking activities in your school environment. Ask your PTA President or your teachers for reading material so you can learn how to recognize and safely inform a trusted adult regarding how to document and submit your concerns for yourself or your friends. • What is domestic violence? How do students learn these activities? What are human trafficking activities? Why do classmates participate in these activities? Why are these activities still allowed to take place in our schools? • While in your school environment: (are you a student or non-student?)o Students do these things: enjoy getting to school on time. Enjoy taking notes while in class. Enjoy doing their homework alone so they can focus on what they are trying to learn. Enjoy being quiet and respectful while their teachers are speaking to all of the students in their classroom. Enjoy learning how to become a proactive student.o Non-students do these things: Make jokes all the time. Make fun of other students. Make jokes about the teachers and other people. Never try to participate in any classroom activities. Will not ask the teacher for help. Will not let anyone help them. Think everyone does not like them. • Be aware of the State Laws: o You cannot start smoking anything until you are 21 years old.o You cannot start drinking alcohol until you are 21 years old.o You cannot let anyone talk you into breaking any laws. "The Law" The Law states that it is a crime to intentionally share false verbal information that causes a loss for someone else. The Law states that it is a crime to intentionally submit false written information that causes a loss for someone else. Our Family Law states that Fathers have the RIGHTS to fight to protect their family unconditionally. How to learn how to speak up when your friends tell you that they are worried about something? Remember that none of your friends are qualified or certified to provide you with important information that may save you from getting hurt by someone else. Essay of Hope Conclusion•After you have answered all the questions with complete sentences for your Essay of Hope it will be an essay about your life and your personal plans to succeed.•It will outline the things you wish to accomplish, as you get older.•You will understand how to use your class work as your guide to following your own personal dreams because doing your homework is your practice time to get really good at the things you would like to do as you get older. •Enter your Essay of Hope into the Essay Contest at your school!
